Let the Children Come Diocesan Grant

We are thrilled to share that Nativity has been awarded a $7,500 grant from the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina’s Let the Children Come program, an initiative focused on imagining and experimenting with intergenerational worship and prayer that honors the gifts and spiritual lives of children.

This funding will support Nativity’s development of an intergenerational worship experiment, beginning with an audit assessment of our worship space.

Bird Treacy, who runs A Bird in the Church Consulting, will visit Nativity on November 16–17 to assess our worship space.

She will share what already works well and suggest changes that could better support worshipers of all ages.

During her visit, Bird welcomes the chance to talk and meet with Nativity members of all ages.

If you and/or your child would like to meet with Bird, please Email Sarah O..

Want to learn more about intergenerational ministry? Building Faith’s article What Is Intergenerational Ministry is a good place to start.

As you read, we invite you to consider how intergenerational worship differs from cross generational and multigenerational worship, and what that difference might mean for our parish. We welcome your questions and reflections as we begin this learning journey together.
