Where Every Child is a Star:
A Summer Theater Camp Rooted in Story, Justice, and Creativity
This summer, something special is taking shape at the intersection of imagination and community. The Justice Theater Project, in partnership with Church of the Nativity, is now accepting registrations for its 2025 Youth Summer Theater Camp, a weeklong theatrical journey for students entering grades 3 through 9.
From August 4–8, children won’t just learn about theater, they’ll live it. Guided by professional theater artists, campers will explore acting, movement, and technical elements of production, all while co-creating an original piece of theater from the ground up. But this isn’t just any show.
This year’s performance will be inspired by a book chosen by the campers themselves, selected from Nativity’s own Peace Library, a treasure trove of stories centered around empathy, justice, and community. In this way, the children won’t just be learning lines or blocking scenes, they’ll be exploring themes that matter, through stories that speak to the heart.
In a world that often rushes kids to grow up fast, this camp offers something refreshingly simple and profound: a safe, inclusive space where every camper has a voice, and every voice matters. No experience is required. No auditions. Just curiosity, courage, and a willingness to play.
Each day, from 8:45 am to 4 pm, campers will collaborate, create, and rehearse. And when Friday rolls around, they’ll take to the stage for a live performance at 3:30 pm sharing their hard work, imagination, and heart with family and friends.
