Since 2021, Nativity’s Chatty Yarn group has been participating in the “Foster Care to Success,” Red Scarf project which supports young adult students after they have aged out of the foster care system. This year’s crop of 29 beautiful, unique, red scarves, blessed by Grey, will be sent out this month.
Twice a year, Foster Care to Success sends out, in their Care Packages Program, boxes of goodies to students just like their peers get from their homes. These packages make a real difference to each student, showing them that people out there really care, and are cheering them on all the way.
FC2S relies on businesses and charitable organizations to donate all the items that fill the over 7,500 care packages sent out every year, and since 2005, FC2S has delivered over 25,000 red scarves to foster youth in colleges and training programs across the US.
So, if you have been seeing a lot of red when passing by the Wednesday morning Chatty Yarns meetings recently…now you know! Thanks, Yarners!
Good Evening,
I know that I am too late to participate in the Red Scarf Project for this year. But was wondering if you will take crochet red scarf donations for next year? I have printed out the guidelines.
Thank you.
