If you’re like me, the beginning of fall brings to mind colorful leaves, cozy sweaters, and Church of the Nativity’s Annual Meeting! This year, the meeting will be held on November 17, which is less than two months away. Right now is a great time to begin a personal discernment about becoming a Vestry member, as applicants will be elected at the annual meeting. This is a great opportunity for individuals who feel drawn to contribute to the practical and spiritual life of our church! It’s an especially exciting time to begin this three-year term alongside the Reverend Grey Maggiano, as he settles into his new role as Rector of Nativity.
Church of the Nativity has 12 Vestry members who serve for three years each, meeting once a month for two to three hours. Each member brings a different perspective to the table with the hope of addressing the needs and issues of every parishioner/ministry. If you are passionate about social outreach, education, or pastoral care, there is a seat at the table for you! If you have a financial or legal background, there is a seat at the table for you! If you just want to learn more about and be surprised by all the different happenings at church, there’s a seat at the table for you! There will be four seats at the table to fill this November. If you would like to be considered as a candidate for this rewarding experience, please fill out the Vestry application form by October 14. Thank you!
