Kathryn joined Church of the Nativity in 2015. She grew up in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cary, which was just the start of her journey to be the Youth Minister here at Nativity.
After graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture, she spent five nomadic years traveling all over the US: Mississippi for college (go Bulldogs!); Park City, Utah, as a ski school instructor; Ocoee River, Tennessee, as a white-water rafting guide; Manteo, North Carolina, as an aquarium educator; and just recently, Oahu, Hawaii, as a special-needs school principal. Kathryn recently opened a gymnastics, cheerleading, and Parkour gym in Holly Springs.
Throughout the last ten years, Kathryn has always found a church at which she could be part of the youth team. Her zeal for working with youth to find a foundational relationship with their faith grows stronger each passing day. This opportunity to be the Youth Minister at Church of the Nativity is fulfilling a long-time dream and goal in working with youth to support and help the younger generations find their own path to God and learn how to walk with Jesus.
When Kathryn is not at her gym coaching, jumping on the trampoline, or practicing her Parkour skills, you can find her spending time in the great outdoors with her dogs, obsessing over CrossFit, or spending time with family!
