Solarize the Triangle

Solarize the Triangle is a grassroots campaign that makes it easy and affordable to switch to clean, independent solar power. With our Solarize Partner, St. John’s Episcopal Church of Wake Forest, Nativity will host a Solarize the Triangle information meeting from 7 to 9 pm on March 30. Everyone is welcome.
Solarize is quickly becoming one of the most efficient ways for communities to go solar. The Solarize approach allows groups of homeowners or businesses to work together to collectively negotiate rates below the normal retail cost, competitively select an installer, and increase demand through a creative limited-time offer to join the campaign. Ultimately, as the number of residents who participate in the program increase, the cost of the installations will decrease. Any homeowner or business in the Triangle will be eligible to participate. If 30 homeowners sign contracts to have solar installed during the campaign, the Sharing Solar project will donate a small solar system to a low-income household or a nonprofit that serves low-income people. The team with the most contracts signed will choose the recipient.
Adopting solar energy is one of the best ways we can care for our planet. It can save us money, too – on our electric bills and our taxes through the 30% Federal solar tax credit. Every dollar we save on our electric bills is a dollar we have available to help families, the congregation, and the community.
The Solarize enrollment period will be January 1 to April 30, 2016.
